What is SCRATCH? What is Assimilate? Are they the same thing as Live FX?

Assimilate is the name of the company that many different software products.

You can go to to learn more about all the different products.

SCRATCH is one of the software developed by Assimilate, and its main functionality is for Color Correction and Finishing.

The working tabs at the bottom are slightly different from Live FX, it has Construct, Edit, ColorFX, and Render.

Live FX is a different software from SCRATCH, that focuses on Live features for Virtual Production, but shares many similarities to SCRATCH both in appearance and functionality.

The working tabs are Construct, Live FX, and Stage Lights.

If you own Live FX Studio, you have access to both SCRATCH and Live FX. You can switch between the different toolsets at the bottom, by clicking the Gear Icon and changing from Live FX to Finishing (SCRATCH).
